Katherine and Jeff are no strangers when it comes to combining love and adventure. Together they’ve hiked Mt. Everest, backpacked through Patagonia, and summited Kilimanjaro (just to name a few). When they made the decision to renew their vows, elopement style, it had to be somewhere epic –– a multi-day Iceland vow renewal was the perfect way to do it.
An Iceland elopement meant a lot of planning, but also a lot of fun. Before their unforgettable celebration and moment of ‘I dos’, they spent 5 days traveling around, 4x4ing into the middle of the country to mountains painted with streaks of color, wandering through green and black lava fields, and marveling at the gorgeousness of the lupine season. With 20 hours of daylight, they were even able to start a lot of hikes at 11 pm in order to miss the crowds. Many of the popular spots we had all to ourselves! I was along for the ride and had the honor of capturing it all.
When Katherine and Jeff got married for the first time, they had their vows hand-calligraphed on beautiful papers. But in the chaos of the day, they never actually got a chance to use them! So this time around, they brought the papers with them and used them to renew their vows. It was such a beautiful moment and was the cherry on top to their stunning Iceland elopement.
One of the best parts of this Iceland elopement was getting to do a snuggly Airbnb session with Katherine and Jeff. Because they are always off on such grand adventures with breathtaking backdrops, it was definitely important to capture them in more of a low key setting, all snuggled up just thoroughly enjoying each other’s company. The Airbnb was the perfect way to wrap up a multi-day Iceland vow renewal. Being able to capture a couple in a more intimate setting creates such a beautiful memory for them to cherish forever.
